MM Jam of the Week – Amy Winehouse

This week’s MM Jam of the Week is in memory of Amy Winehouse. “He Can Only Hold Her” is one of my favorite songs of hers from the Back to Black album. It is so sad that she passed away so soon and wasn’t able to share more great music with us. In this video, she combines the song with a cover of Lauryn Hill’s “That Thing”. Hope you enjoy!

Renegade SF Recap

Renegade Craft Fair was back in San Francisco last weekend and I hope some of you were able to check it out. It was a huge free event held at Fort Mason and featured a bunch of talented and super creative vendors. Over 200 vendors were present which included jewelry, t-shirts, artwork, plushies and much more. The For Mason Center Festival Pavilion is a large location that sits nicely on the water.

I tried to arrive early to avoid the crowds but apparently everyone else was thinking the same thing. My strategy was to go up and down each aisle so I could make sure that I did not miss a thing.

I noticed that there was much more artwork this year and less t-shirts. As always I scoured each jewelry vendor and admired all of their amazing craftwork. There were a couple of handbag designers that worked with leather. What is great about this event is that many of the vendors are from all over the United States. Although I do love to support local, it’s nice to see what other crafters are doing across America. I can’t imagine how they ship all of their products over here. But once it arrives at Renegade, all of their products look very fresh and ready for a home in California. Well I hope you all had a chance to check out this huge event. If not, Renegade will be back again in December!┬áHere are some of the shots I got of the various vendors.

This is a scarf!

This kid was totally relaxing during the craft fair. Do they make adult sized wagons like this?

P.O.P. candy was the most delicious toffee! I should have bought some!

Renegade also comes to Brooklyn, Chicago, Los Angeles, Austin and London. If you are unable to attend these events, you can shop online at

MM Jam of the Week: GAGA

Hi Everyone! This week’s MM Jam of the Week is Lady Gaga’s “Edge of Glory”. I love this song for the following reasons:

1) Super 80s! Everything about the video screams 1980s! Lady Gaga’s outfits, the shades of pink and purple, the extensive use of fog machines, the shots of Gaga on fire escapes, the saxophone….so 80s!

2) The beat makes me want to get up and do something! It’s a catchy hook with an upbeat melody that really pumps you up!

3) The breakdown that starts a 3:17 sounds so much like a Prince song! And you know how much I love Prince!

4) Lady Gaga’s dance moves are hilarious…is she kissing the cement sidewalk? Makes me wonder if someone actually choreographed her movements or if this was pure Gaga freestyling.

Hope you enjoy!

Local Label Faire Recap

Last Friday was the 1st ever Local Label Faire and it was fabulous! There were so many people that came out to the event and everyone had a good time. There were about 50 vendors inside and 25 food trucks outside at the Moveable Feast. Here’s some pics of everyone setting up.

Melinda Mae Handbags Booth

I quickly set up the Melinda Mae booth so that I would have enough time to attack the food trucks before the lines started to form. trucks

When I headed out 5 minutes before the event was supposed to start, there were already lines forming for food! I guess that’s the only way to get people to arrive on time…bring food trucks! Lucky for me, I was able to get my favorite, MoGo’s tofu tacos…delicious!

MoGo Tofu Tacos!

I restrained myself from buying too many so that I could save room for more yummy goodness from the other food trucks. Here’s some of the treats that my friends shared with me at the Melinda Mae booth.

I did pick up a tank top from Fullout Clothing, which made me very happy. I was also really happy to see so many good friends stop by the Melinda Mae booth! Thank you to everyone that stopped by! Every event is enhanced by great company. I also got some great shots of my pals at fOLDED, Inc., Mayberry Workshop and ViviKids:

MM Jam of the Week “Santeria”

This week’s Jam of the Week is Sublime’s “Santeria” from their self-titled album released in 1996. I love this song because it reminds me of high school days and has a great laid back melody. This Sublime album is a really awesome album and the last album released before the lead singer passed. So if you get a chance, listen to this Sublime self-titled album. ┬áDefinitely an awesome song. Enjoy!

Hope you all had a great 4th of July weekend! Check back soon for a recap of the Local Label Faire!
