Local Label Faire Preview!

So now that you’ve planned out exactly which food trucks you are going to hit and in what order, now it’s time to make a plan for which vendors to stop by at the Local Label Faire! All of the vendors are local designers and makers with the most unique products you’ll find in one spot!

Some of the fantabulous vendors that will be present include my friends from The Higher Culture, Vivi Kids, fOLDED, Mighty Fresh, Mayberry Workshop and much more. I am very excited to check out all of the other vendors which include Empire Vintage, Intwined Bows, Social Villians, Booger Kids and many more. I definitely want to pick up some apparel from Fullout Clothing!

Hopefully I’ll get a chance to look and shop around. I am so impressed by all of the artistic talent and creativity that have come from our own Bay Area neighborhood. And it has been such a wonderful experience getting to know these designers. Not only do they all create high quality one of kind products, but they have been so friendly and kind. I am very grateful to be a part of this community. =)

Here is another look at a Melinda Mae handbag ready to debut at the Local Label Faire!

MM Jam of the Week

This week, I am sharing one of my favorite songs….it’s an old dancehall hit from 1994, “Action” by Terror Fabulous. Every time I hear this song, it makes me want to get up and dance. =) The video is not remarkable in any way but I thought I’d share anyways…I’ll be listening to this while I sew and prep for the Local Label Faire this Friday! http://www.locallabelfaire.com

Maybe add this to your Pandora channel instead so you can skip the video. ha

Contest Winner & MM Jam of the Week!

This week’s Jam of the Week is “Sweet Disposition” by The Temper Trap. This is definitely my favorite song on the 500 Days of Summer soundtrack…so that’s right, the picture of the Melinda Mae Instant Vintage Small handbag was taken at Angel’s Knoll in Downtown Los Angeles, which is one of the places where 500 Days of Summer was shot!

So Congratulations to Minal Patel for winning the Where in the World is Melinda Mae Contest!

500 Days of Summer is one of my all time favorite movies and there were some very meaningful scenes that were filmed at Angel’s Knoll. There is even a plaque on the bench where Tom and Summer sat in the film.

It really is a great view of the buildings in downtown LA that lends to some great architecture. It’s a beautifully unexpected park in the middle of downtown LA.

If you get a chance, check it out and if you have not watched 500 Days of Summer, please do! It’s an amazingly well done movie with an even greater soundtrack.

Congratulations again to Minal Patel! =) Thanks for guessing!

Melinda Mae contest: Where in the world is MM?

So you may have noticed that I skipped the MM Jam of the Week this week…well that’s because it ties in with this week’s contest, which will lead to the Jam of the Week that I will post later this week. The contest for this week involves this beautiful picture of the Melinda Mae Instant Vintage Small Bag. The first person to guess the specific location where this picture was taken will win a Melinda Mae wristlet! Start guessing!

Do you know where this is?

Here’s a hint: the location is in Southern California. =)

Etsy Craft Party Recap!

Last Friday, I attended the Etsy Craft Party, which was hosted at the TechShop in San Francisco. I was very anxious and excited since this was the first Etsy meetup and Craft Party that I have ever been to. I had no idea what to expect but the night was full of fun!

ETSY party!

I showed up at the TechShop in SF and there were lots of other Etsy artists and craft enthusiasts…actually hundreds of people! And everyone was mingling, laughing, snacking or doing crafts! There were multiple craft stations to choose from and I chose the Plushie Making Station. There were also stations for button making, crocheting and knitting. At the Plushie Making Station, I had the choice of making a plush robot, squirrel, mustache and many other patterns. And here is what I created!

Can you guess which pattern I chose? =)

Here are more shots of the Etsy Craft Party….

Happy Crafters!

I had a great time! Awesome job and thanks to the SF Etsy Team! Can’t wait for the next Craft Party!

Check back soon to see the incredible artwork that I happened to find on the same night!

Millions of Peaches…Peaches for ME

This week’s MM Jam of the Week is brought to you by the Presidents of the United States of America, “Peaches”.  Bringing you back to 1995 and loving this song. I was inspired to pick this song because of some delicious peaches from Fresno that I tried last weekend. =) Thank you A+G!

Coming soon….Etsy Craft Party Recap!

P.S. This is for you, sir!
