MM’s Jam of the Week

This week I was able to connect with some very missed friends from high school and junior high. Seeing them made me reminisce about a lot of good times and it was awesome that a lot of the local radio stations were playing throwbacks this weekend! Here’s one of my faves that was playing this Memorial weekend. Enjoy!

Prince Contest Winner and Jam of the Week!

Like I promised, the Jam of the Week this week is the answer to which Prince song is my favorite song…and my favorite Prince song of all time is Adore! Adore was released in 1987 on the Sign O the Times Album. Some of my fave Prince songs include Cream, Raspberry Beret, Diamonds & Pearls, 17 Days, Little Red Corvette, Let’s Go Crazy…the list can go on forever! But I do really love Adore, the lyrics…the melody…truly amazing. I was sadly disappointed when this song was not included in his set during his Welcome 2 America Tour, but he still had an outstanding show. So here it is, the Jam of the Week, Adore by Prince!

If you get a chance, look up Alicia Keys’ cover of Adore on the BET Awards. That was also amazing!

And as for the Prince Contest, no one guessed correctly so I entered everyone who commented into a drawing for the wristlet! And the winner is……PAULINE LE! Congratulations Pauline! I will contact you soon about the wristlet you have won!

And thank you to all of you who tried to guess my favorite song! For all of those that guessed, you will receive a discount code to be used at the Melinda Mae Handbags online store! Thank you for participating! Enjoy Adore!

Prince is back and a Melinda Mae Contest!

If you haven’t heard, Prince is back in town for 2 more shows of his Welcome to America Tour. He will be playing at HP Pavilion on Thursday, May 19 and Saturday, May 21. I want to go so bad and see him live for the third time but, unfortunately, I got hit really hard with a cold. =( But luckily, I was able to catch him when he was playing at the Oakland Coliseum back in February. Here are some shots that I got from the concert!

Doesn't that stage look awesome?

Do you see the furry boots?

Prince had a few costume changes which included some amazing knee high furry white boots! The concert was packed with people of all ages and everyone was on their feet dancing during the whole concert. There was even a guy behind me with a cane and he was on his feet the whole night! There were some kids in the crowd too which made me happy to see some lucky kids being exposed to Prince’s music. Sheila E also performed with Prince and even did her hit “The Glamorous Life.” She also played the drums during Prince’s set and she looked super fierce. Prince’s stage was constantly changing colors and the jumbo-trons gave us plenty of close-ups of Prince (one shot included a few minutes focusing on his butt HA).

Okay so for the contest! Can anyone guess what my favorite Prince song of all time is? All those that guess correctly will be entered to win this Melinda Mae wristlet!

Melinda Mae Sprinkles Wristlet

See the purple lining...Prince's color! =)

If you’d like to enter the contest, leave a comment with your guess of Melinda Mae’s favorite Prince song by Sunday, May 22. I will announce the winner and my favorite song on Monday…it will be Melinda Mae’s Jam of the week! Prince had so many hits…hope someone can guess it!

Don’t want to enter the contest? That’s fine…but check out the Asian Heritage Street Celebration this Saturday, May 21, and stop by the Melinda Mae Handbags booth! =)

Melinda Mae’s Jam of the Week

Lately, I’ve been reminded of a lot of awesome songs that I haven’t heard in a long time. I love hearing those songs that really bring you back so I wanted to share some songs with all of you that get stuck in my head and make me smile. So weekly, I’ll be sharing my Jam of the Week to bring some good music your way.

The first song to kick it off is inspired by this strange rainfall that we have been having. This song makes me want to laugh.. and run and chest bump someone.

This was a great group until we realized it was a sham….but still a good jam, nonetheless. ENJOY! =)

Hope it doesn’t rain this Saturday at the Asian Heritage Street Celebration! eekk…cross your fingers!
