Melinda Mae in the Metro Magazine!

This week has been quite exciting for Melinda Mae Handbags! Melinda Mae handbags were used in a photoshoot for Content Magazine and was featured in the San Jose Metro Magazine! I was interviewed a few weeks ago about Melinda Mae and how it all started and I was lucky to receive a full page in the Metro Magazine! The issue is only out until March 29th so pick up a copy today. You can find Metro Magazines in red boxes around the San Jose and South Bay Area. In the article, I mention inheriting my sewing skills from my mom and my grandma so I want to say a very special thank you to the both of them again. =)

Thank you everyone for all of your support! I feel very honored to be featured in the Metro. =)

Don’t forget that 10% of all March sales will be donated to Japan! Also, Melinda Mae Handbags will be at the San Jose Made show on Saturday, April 2nd! More details to come…..!

Celebrities design for Japan!

It’s wonderful to see how many people are donating and contributing to the people in Japan and to help rebuild all that was lost in the Japan earthquake and tsunami through various fundraisers. Most of the people that I have talked to recently have already donated in some way or another to Japan and I hope that we can all keep giving.
Many designers and celebrities are also helping with the cause by donating the money raised from sales of merchandise to raise money for Japan. Mike Shinoda of Linkin Park is donating 100% of sales of these t-shirts that he has designed to benefit the survivors of the earthquake and tsunami.

To purchase this t-shirt, please go to the Linkin Park shop link here for $25. Designer Tory Burch and the online shopping website, Rue La La, also teamed up to design this t-shirt that incorporates the Japan flag into it’s design. One hundred percent of these sales will also go to the American Red Cross’ Japan Fund.

I just purchased mine today through Rue La La! I love the design and I love that the 100% of the $29 for this specially designed t-shirt will be donated to the American Red Cross’ Japan fund. To purchase this tshirt, please visit the Rue La La site here.

There are multiple ways to donate to Japan while also sporting very fabulous gear. Don’t forget that from now until April, 10% of all Melinda Mae online sales will also be donated to the American Red Cross Japan Earthquake and Tsunami Fund! To order a Melinda Mae handbag today, please visit the Melinda Mae website!

So whether you choose to purchase some of these items or to donate directly to the Red Cross, thank you again for giving!

Another Melinda Mae Baby Bag!

Melinda Mae Lil' Fishies Baby Bag

Here is another custom Melinda Mae Baby Bag that I just finished for a customer. This baby bag was a gift and the lucky recipient’s coworkers chose the Lil’ Fishies fabric for this specific Melinda Mae Baby Bag. This fabric is special because I picked it up in Tokyo and I don’t have too much of this fabric left.

Inner Lining of the Melinda Mae Lil' Fishies Baby Bag

I chose to line the fabric with green cotton to highlight the green leaves on the fabric. Don’t forget that each Melinda Mae Baby Bag is a custom order so you can pick the specific fabric you would like as the outer fabric and the color(s) to contrast! These Melinda Mae Baby Bags are very exclusive since they are not yet featured on the Melinda Mae website.  To order a custom Melinda Mae Baby Bag, please email for fabric choices!

Order your Melinda Mae Baby Bag or any other Melinda Mae handbag before April and 10% of the entire sale will go to the Red Cross Japan Earthquake and Pacific Tsunami Fund.

Raising funds for Japan

I have been glued to the TV since the earthquake and tsunami hit Japan last week. It saddens me to see all of the devastation in Japan and I’m sure we have all been affected in some way by this disaster. From now until the end of March, Melinda Mae Handbags will donate 10% of all online sales to the American Red Cross Japan Earthquake and Pacific Tsunami Fund. Purchase any Melinda Mae handbag on the Melinda Mae website ( and your purchase will also help with the Japan earthquake fund.

If you would like to donate directly, please go to the American Red Cross site here. Thank you in advance for your contributions. I hope we can find ways to reach out to all of the individuals affected by the tsunami and earthquake. Please do share how you or others are providing support.
