It has been a long break since my last vendor show, but I am very excited that my first show for this Fall will be this Saturday, October 2nd! On Saturday, I will be setting up the Melinda Mae Handbag booth at the Spirit of Japantown Festival in San Jose Japantown. This will be my third year participating in this festival and I have always had such a great time at this festival. The first year, it was pouring rain, the second year, it was ridiculously burning hot…so who knows what the weather will bring this year.
This free festival begins at 10am and lasts until 5pm. The Spirit of Japantown festival includes entertainment from San Jose Taiko, Halau Na Wai Ola, Ukelele Jams, Martial arts exhibitions and much more. There will also be a Kid Zone and a Car Exhibition area. For the 21+, there will be a Beer Garden and plenty of food vendors.
Japantown San Jose has also included many new businesses including Cukui (a collaboration of art and streetwear), Island Sol (Hawaiian culture store similar to Sun Jose) and Biscuits (a boutique for cats and dogs). Hopefully you can check these new stores out while you are at the festival. Don’t forget to pick up spam musubi and shave ice before you leave the festival!
