Melinda Mae and YOU can donate to the San Bruno Fire Fund!

San Bruno Gas Fire

On September 9th, 2010, a gas fire explosion occurred in a residential area of San Bruno, California which is located within the San Francisco Bay Area. The gas fire explosion affected over 50 acres of land, which included destroying over 50 homes and severely damaging approximately 120 homes. The gas line that exploded created a 15 foot crater in the middle of the residential neighborhood and the explosion displaced multiple families, and included multiple fatalities and injuries.

I was so sad to hear about this disaster and I could not believe the pictures and how unreal the whole situation is. I know that the families are and will continue to deal with the impact of this devastation. Unfortunately, this included the loss of family members, homes, cars, possessions, and pets.

I was truly saddened when I heard about this and my heart completely goes out to all of the families and those affected by the fires. Currently, the Red Cross, Salvation Army and many other Bay Area organizations are collecting donation, hosting blood drives and collecting financial donations.

So I’ve decided to make a donation to the San Bruno Fire Fund for every Melinda Mae Handbag purchased online from now until the end of September. For every handbag purchased on until September 30, I will donate 15% of the total purchase to the San Bruno Fire Fund through the Salvation Army. The money donated will directly help the families affected by the fires and I know that this is the very least that we can do to contribute. With your purchase, you will not only be contributing to the San Bruno Fire Fund, but you will also receive your very own Melinda Mae handbag. I would like to thank you in advance for helping to donate to this fund!

It has been amazing to see how much everyone in the Bay Area has been reaching out to these families and contributing as much as they can.  If you would like to find out more about more opportunities to give and contribute directly to the San Bruno Fire Fund, please click on this link: California Volunteers
