One of my favorite places to eat in New York is NINJA. Ninja has been featured as an Extreme Restaurant on the Travel Channel and many people rave about this unique dining experience. When you enter Ninja, there is a small entryway with just a lone hostess. Then you take an elevator down to the dining area. As the elevator descends, the lights dim to black and the doors open. Watch out because a ninja will most likely be there to jump out at you and to eventually show you to your table. The restaurant divides each table into it’s own private dining area. The dim lighting and beautiful japanese decor adds to the mysterious setting. Even the bathrooms have the special toilets from Japan. If you ever been to Japan, you know what I mean. The waiters never let go of their ninja character roles and jump out at you when they can and draw swords. Not only are the decor and waiters amazing, the food is so yummy!
This sashimi was the freshest fish that I have tasted in awhile and look how magical it looks. Many of the dishes at Ninja come with a special presentation or a small ninja show!
When this came out, the oysters were closed. The ninja waiter came out and placed the oysters on the center of a plate and lit a string that was placed underneath the oysters. There was a quick flash and a fire started under the oysters and they slowly opened up. And to top it off, the fondue was amazing!
When this ribeye came out, it smelled so good that I forgot to take a picture. haha It was delicious and came with a cauliflower and bacon gratin side and three different sauces to dip it in.
This dish came out with a sword through the bell pepper and needs the assistance of the customer to remove it. There was a chinese-style roasted duck on the bell pepper and a cold thai-style duck in the silver cup.
After all the delicious courses, there was dessert. After all the wonderful dishes, I was thinking that the dessert might not be so good, but I was wrong!
This dessert was amazing. Fresh berries with strawberry sorbet, chocolate cookie and a chocolate mousse. It was the perfect ending to a fabulous meal. At the end of the meal, they do a quick magic show for you and they give you Ninja stickers to take home. I love this place! Unfortunately, I have only been here twice, but I definitely want to keep going. This place absolutely lives up to it’s reputation. For more info, go to: www.ninjanewyork.com
