Yesterday was the annual AIDS Walk in San Francisco and I am very excited to say that it was the first year that TEAM MELINDA MAE participated in the AIDS Walk as a team! This year our team was made up of six members and we were able to raise over $500 for AIDS research, prevention and services in San Francisco! Good job Team Melinda Mae! Here are some pix of our 10 kilometer walk with 25,000 other AIDS Walkers! The walk started off with an amazing performance by Goapele, which I was super excited about!
Our team shirts and headbands (hehe) were fabulous thanks to Mr. Jonathan Tsurui helping to design them! I was happy that some people asked about Melinda Mae and I was able to give out a few business cards.
We had a ton of fun walking with so many other people and organizations that also helped to raise funds for HIV/AIDS services. We also loved the yummy snacks that we got along the way, such as popsicles, popchips, granola bars and some strange drinks. hehe A lot of walkers also brought their dogs to the AIDS Walk. I thought this was the luckiest dog at the walk…
After a couple hours, we finished the walk! And, with only a few complaints of tired legs and feet, we rewarded ourselves with a lunch at Ebisu Japenese food. Thank you to Perry, Danny, Davidson, Susan and Anthony for being a part of the first Melinda Mae AIDS Walk SF Team! I’m so proud of us! =)
